  • Description: If you are, or know, a homeless veteran, please call 916-661-5149.Recognizing the specific needs of those who served our country, Volunteers of America (VOA) provides specialized programs for homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Sacramento, Nevada, and Yuba/Sutter counties.Services for veterans include rapid re-housing, case management and homeless prevention. A large focus is heavily placed on increasing veteran's employment potential through job readiness and retention training.There are two buildings about 100 yards apart - Building 1 is for assisting veterans with Housing that number is 916.228.3153. The second building is for assisting veterans with Employment that number is 916.661.5149Program GoalsVolunteers of America- Northern California & Northern Nevada's (VOA-NCNN) Veterans Services program provides supportive services to extremely low or very low-income veterans who are facing homelessness. We offer a very comprehensive program for veterans; including housing assistance, counseling, employment training, temporary financial assistance, case management and other supportive services (e.g. access to food, household items, and furniture). The case management services are designed to improve veteran families' housing stability and may include assistance in securing housing, daily living needs, health care, transportation, fiduciary and payee services, legal aid, child care, financial literacy, etc. Additionally, we connect veterans to the various resources available through Veterans Affairs and other government programs.
